Hira Laboratories Ltd is a New Zealand based phyto
research laboratory manufacturing herbal and natural products.
History: Hira Laboratories was formed in 1999 after
many years of preparatory research and study. Its objective was
to provide a range of herbal products for people and animals organically
grown and manufactured in New Zealand. Hira Laboratories has also
been involved in developing a medicinal plant nursery as well as
growing the more unusual herbs like Saw Palmetto, Vitex agnes, Ashwagandha,
licorice, marshmallow, green tea etc
Dilip Kane B.Sc.Hons. (Phy.
Chem.); B.Ed.; M.Sc.Chem. P.Chemist with
several years of research, teaching
and manufacturing experience. He is working for Hira Laboratories
as a research chemist and production manager. His particular
interest is in phyto-chemical analysis of medicinal plants. He has
developed a variety of extraction methods, which minimize the decomposition
of bio-active plant ingredients. His latest product, Omega Oil Complex,
contains plant extracts noted for their anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory
effects and oil soluble vitamins This product has been developed
to prevent the oxidation of fatty acids. He has also developed a
range of natural skin products that nourish the skin with a blend
of herbal extracts and vitamins. All skin care products have been
formulated using natural ingredients, anti-oxidants and natural
preservatives to feed the skin. In addition to this he has
developed a range of herbal extracts able to be used for medicinal
purposes
Everdien
van Eerten (Dip. Hort. STMS) is a qualified
horticulturalist and landscape consultant, working part time as
a landscape architectural designer for an international consultancy group for
the last 14 years. Her interest is in medicinal plants and their
application as part of sustainable farming. Everdien has been involved
with horses for the last 25 years, educating, competing and judging
. Her role with Hira Labs is largely an advisory one where
clients may discuss equine, and pet health issues. Her approach
is always to address the animal's diet, suggest a period where
the horse, cat or dog is placed onto an entirely natural feed
regime and then if necessary prescribe medicinal extracts and tonics.
She is presently developing medicinal plant gardens incorporating
aesthetic value with function. The garden has a Tuscan flavour with
the addition of truly Mediterranean.plants like Vitex agnes, pomegranates,
olives, lavender, mulberries, artichokes,

and people. We also provide an auxiliary advisory service to a number
of veterinary clinics for those clients requesting an alternative
